Heyo!

I’m a 21 year old FPV pilot turned developer mostly out of boredom and a little bit of spite.

This site started all the way back in 2021 as my first programming project. It was essentially a fancy way to show part recommendations from a google sheet that me and my friends made and shared around at the time. Now it’s… still mostly that, but even fancier and with actual added functionality here and there.

I’m also working on a couple of other projects that you may or may not have heard of, like Betaflight. Me and a good friend of mine started work on an alternative documentation website, and it eventually became official, with us now on the dev team! I mostly work on the documentation and the app itself, having helped taking it out of its old native wrapper and into the browser directly. The latest release of the app is built around a much more modern UI framework and architecture which I helped introduce.

Find quick answers to the most frequently asked questions!

It’s no secret that FPV is not a very easy hobby to get into. There’s a lot to learn when you’re just starting out, and it can be overwhelming. But time and time again, some questions come up time and time again, so I’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions here. You can even learn what some of the items scrolling by on the right mean!

Sorted into categories to be quickly found - Starting Out, Building, Betaflight, Video, Radio, Hardware, it covers everything from “How much does it cost to get started with FPV?” to “My motors won’t slow down after moving throttle”. Suggestions for new questions and direct contributions are welcome!

The aim is to provide mostly simple and quick answers, but some questions may be more complex and require a a longer explanation. Those will usually have a short synopsis of the answer, and a link to a detailed guide article.

Get parts for your first build, or inspiration for your next one!

Bind and Fly (BNF) drones have gotten a lot better since I first started flying and eventually writing this site. But building your own is still my recommended way to get started. You learn a lot about how everything goes together and how it all works when you do it yourself. And when it breaks, you already have all the tools and knowledge to fix it.

The builds section hosts lists of parts for all sorts of different builds, picked to be compatible with each other, and to be of good quality. Every item is indicated with a price range respective to the total build cost, lists the most important specs, and offers a concise description. You can view images of the parts, and add them to a shopping list as you go to sum up the total price.

There were many different builds on this site over the years, but I can only keep up with so much. Right now, only a select few are available publicly. It’s a surprising amount of work to keep everything up to date and make sure it’s all working correctly across different price points and use cases.

Everything you need to get in the air!

Well, almost. Can’t ever catch them all.

The gear section offers lists of all the exciting (and not so exciting) stuff you need to get in the air. Remote controllers from tiny gamepad-like devices to full-sized handheld bricks, goggles ranging from budget-friendly analog to high-end digital (and video receiver modules to match), chargers for batteries ranging from small 1s packs for tinywhoops to large 6s packs for freestyle, racing, and beyond.

You’ll also likely need some antennas, tools, build materials, spare parts and all sorts of different accessories. Those may unfortunately be (re)added later.

“Articles” was too long for this fancy title thingy.

And also, writing “blogs” makes me feel like an old person. But I do prefer written content over videos when it comes to learning and sharing knowledge. I hope you do as well if you made it this far down.

I write about just about anything that comes to mind. Funny sentence. But I try my best to keep it organized into News, Reviews, Guides, and Misc for everything else.
