1s/2s Micro

Every gram matters, for silent flying nearly anywhere

Built to be very light, every gram matters here. Great park/backyard fliers, and basically silent.

This list is specced for 1/2s, and includes everything to build a full quad, except parts such as cameras, goggles, receiver and radio systems as those vary depending on prefference and you'll find recommendations on this site elsewhere.

The price range for each part is highlighted, so you can quickly find something to suit your budget needs.

Motors
Good quality motors in a wide variety of kv options, 12000 for 2s, 17000 for 1/2s, and the rest for 1s to give you a load of options for different builds
A good option with a thicker prop shaft (1.5mm vs 1mm on most other motors in this size) for that extra bit of durability
The lightest of the bunch, while still being unibell. It's a very common motor, used in the Moblite 6/7, a good cheap option for a "transplant" build if you buy the Moblite
Going up in size, for heavier 1.6" (40mm) quads, or light 2" builds. Flywoo make pretty good micro quad hardware, this is a good pick with higher kv for speed for both 1 and 2s
RCinpower make really good motors, this one isn't an exception. Good quality, a pop of color to make your quad stand out, with a good amount of kv options
A larger motor than the 1002, for heavier/larger builds and props, with lower kv options for an overall tamer quad, possibly even for a very light 2.5"
Going even higher in size, 2-3" builds. 8500kv for 2/3s, 10000kv for 1/2s depending on size and prop choice
Depending on when/where you get them from, they currently go for very cheap. A great good-looking and performing option, coming with both 1.5 and 2mm shaft options for extra durability
Pretty good and light motors, coming with the Crux 3 pre-built quad, which is very popular, giving you the option for an easy transplant build as well
Same good quality as any other RCinpower motor, with unique and pretty colors, and a great overall option with the price and weight considered
Same good quality as any other RCinpower motor, with unique and pretty colors, and a great overall option with the price and weight considered
Made by KababFPV, claimed to be the best motor for his babytooth frame and 3" in general. You should watch out for the 2mm shaft, to buy props that will fit, as with the Flywoo motors
Frames
Designed by Craftedkwads "The Odonata is a nano drone that fits in your pocket, rips like a boss, and hums like a dragonfly (true to its namesake). Fits through the tiniest of gaps, and makes worlds out of small spots." It's a small 1.6" frame, for small yet powerful builds
IFlight's entry into the <2" market. A decent frame, ~1g lighter than the Odonata, but using less carbon, thtat's also a bit thinner. Use if you really want to go for the lowest weight for an all-carbon frame
As said a bit above, flywoo have been making good micro quad hardware for a good while. This is a frame with pretty striking looks and a large fin to easily recover from crashes, as well as being really light
It's painfully hard to find decent 2" frames nowadays, most modern ones are custom designs you have to print/cut yourself. Flywoo aims to change that with the Nano baby 20, a well-made frame ready to be ripped
As said, 2" are usually custom-designed and cut+sold by pilots. TKS posts their designs on Thingiverse to be cut/printed by other users, if you have the means to do, it's a great option. If not, this one is ready to be bought pre-cut and bashed with its thicker carbon
Going up in size to 2.5", we have an older frame, yet it still holds ground today. Might be better on 2s, but still a great frame with a lot of space for an easier build, a luxury at this size and weight
NewBeeDrone specializes in micro quads. This frame is made with part transplants in mind, favoring 65 and 75mm whoop parts, though I'd recommend potentially bumping up the motor size
DarwinFPV recently entered the market offering very budget-oriented quads, that hold up surprisingly well. This is a frame from their newest quad, aimed more towards freestyle. I advise going to 2s for more power
A jump in size to 3". A bit above I put a short mention of the Crux3 BNF. Here it is as a standalone frame, priced very cheaply, though you will need your own hardware and canopy, as it's meant more as a replacement part
A very well-known frame for micros of this class, with all of 1-2s FPVCycle electronics centered around this platform and often used as a comparison standard. It's a good-performing frame with a bunch of thickness options for any use
Also designed and made by NewBeeDrone, it's sure to perform well. A pretty cool-looking frame, cut in places where not needed to save weight, though still at 2.5mm it will handle crashes pretty well
HGLRC have made something pretty unique here. A toothpick frame with arm braces, mounting for 16x/20x/25.5x electronics, battery held with rubberbands or straps, this frame gives you a lot of options for all kinds of different builds
